I have been on 40mg of adderall XR for 5 years, and my insurance ended three months ago when I graduated. I have not been able to afford the $370 a month to fill my rx, and can't find an insurance to cover it? Can someone please let me know a insurance plan that isn't to expensive that will cover it? Or please let me know how I can get some type of help to pay for the prescription (voucher?) I am desperate, I can't concentrate and am very aggatted without it, but with 2 small kids, can't afford to pay nearly $400 a month for my own prescription. Thanks.

My Grandson is on ADDERALL and has been on it for 7 years now...during those years My Daughter has had insurance and there was a time she did not. When she did not she got the drug though AZ ACCESS(Az form of Medicare) no cost. My Grandson is now on ACCESS again ...My daughter went to the pharmacy to get his prescription...they told her she had to pay $180.00 which she does not have. These pills cost only $60.00 last year ..full price...why did the price jump so much. When she called ACCESS they told her that her plan did not cover Adderal....but it did cover Ritalin which he cannot take because they don't have XR, and he needs time released. Is there any program out there that can help her with the cost?
Thanks

Hello,

I am a single mother of 2 children. Both my children and I have ADD and ADHD. My 12 year old son has been on Adderall since he was 4 years old and health insurance was paying for the his medication.
His doctor said his ADHD case was pretty bad and that he should be medicated for the rest of his life for it. We lost our insurance when I separated from my husband when my son was 9. Back then Adderall xr 20 mgs was $108 a month without insurance. I couldn't afford it, so for the next 3 years my son could not take the adderall. My sons grades gradually started slipping and he was getting in more trouble more often. I was getting more calls from the school about him being disruptive and refusing to do his work in class. This year in 6th grade he has had at least 10 referrals, which is not good. He had at least 3 Fs every tri-mester and I was getting calls from the principle and his teachers about 4 time per week. The calls were about missing work, not doing work in class, being disruptive in class, argumentative with teachers, disrespectful, throwing things, hitting other kids and that he would fail the 6th grade if things didn't change. The last tri-mester it was 4 weeks before school was over and my son had 3 Fs. He got an emergency expulsion for hitting a kid in his class and he had 4 weeks to bring his Fs up or he would fail 6th grade. I took my son to the doctor and asked him to put my son back on the Adderall and told him about his grades. (Keep in mind that my son also acted this way at home and it has been very difficult for the last 3 years off medication in our home.) I had know Idea that Adderall is now $197 for a month supply. I didn't know what to do so I used my bill money for his medication because I new the Adderall would help him a great deal. In one week he got 1 of his Fs up and his Reading teacher called me. He said that he just wanted me to tell my son that he is doing great! He told me that my son has made a 360 degree turn around. He said my son is still himself but he's respectful, on task, stays in his seat and does his work, very focused, he doesn't argue, he's not impulsive. The teacher told me that all of his teachers agree with what he was telling me about my son and that they wanted me to know that and to tell my son that. All of this helped my son feel better about himself which in turn made him happy about going to school because he was getting praised in stead of getting in trouble. He brought his grades up and passed the 6th grade and living with him at home is much easier, happier and fun. When he takes the adderall he's the same boy but his negative behavior is gone and he is more positive. It's like night and day. Unbeleivable!

Unfortunetley, I can't afford $197 per month and I am beside myself as to what I can do to keep my son on the Adderall so that he can be successful in school, feel proud that he's doing well in school and eventually graduate. Without it I fear it will be a very negative outcome like, jail, drugs, fighting. I don't know why Adderall is so expensive but my son desperately needs it to pass the next grade. If there is some way to get patience assistance program so his doctor can just give me some every month to give my son, or some kind of discount, I would really like to know about it and we would be very grateful and thankful! Please Help Us!

Thanks

My son is almost 8 years old and was just switched from vyvance to adderall xr 25mg. The doctor told me she hought it would be cheaper but it turns out that it's not. We have BC/BS insurance but it isn't the best plan... we have to pay everything up front. They have also raised the deductable. It is very hard for me to pay full price for this medicine. I have to go without my meds so my son can have his. He needs them or he will not be able to attend normal classes in school. He ran out of meds and I didn't have money to get him more right away and he got a paddling at school for being destracting. His teacher told me I shouldn't send him to school ever again without his medicine. He is a sweet boy he just gets off subject and a little loud withoout his medicine. please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

My son takes Adderall XR 10 mg for his ADHD I lost my job and healthcare coverage. My husband's work does not offer health care. His monthly perscription cost is around $240.00 depending on which drug store you go to. With only my husbands income we are working to get some type of assistance from the government for both my children. However in the mean time my son needs Adderall XR for school. Could you send me a voucher to keep him on his medication? It's been very effective for his learning and is needed for all aspects of his learning.

Thank You
